The MD.450 jet fighter-bomber was the 1st French designed jet fighter to enter production, but it reached its greatest fame and acceptance in the service of Israel. Begins with the complex circumstances over IAF acquisition of the type, which finally joined the order of battle in October 1955. Follows the robust Ouragan (Hurricane) through the Sinai Campaign (October-November 1956), Operational Training Unit duty (from late 1956), the Six Day War (June 1967), the War of Attrition (March 1969-August 1970) and on to retirement in 1973 (excepting Ouragan No 10 which remained flyable until 1976).
